Our Strategy

Building a regional aviation hub.

The Southern Tier Aviation Initiative aims to revitalize New York's Rust Belt by establishing a robust regional aerospace and aviation hub.

The plan

How the strategy works

  1. Reclaim industrial space

This strategy combats widespread economic decline and population loss by transforming underused industrial spaces, such as the former Acco complex in Sidney, into educational and manufacturing centers.

  2. Close the workforce gap

To resolve severe nationwide workforce shortages for pilots, technicians, and drone operators, the program bridges the gap between local talent and industry demands.

  3. Unite regional partners

By uniting educational institutions, municipal governments, and industrial partners, the initiative creates a comprehensive pipeline for regional economic growth.

The outcome

A coordinated platform leveraging local assets and academic talent to build a competitive ecosystem for the future of aviation.
